Diane has been involved with music since she was 14 when she began DJing. At music college she passed exams in keyboard and sound engineering. She worked as a sound engineer for bands, editing using reel to reel tape.

Her first involvement with radio saw her producing and presenting on a Northern Soul show on BBC Radio Lancashire.

She joined Wrightington Hospital Radio (now WWL Radio) in 2008 and was elected to the Committee because of her superior knowledge of radio engineering and equipment. She later became Chair of the station and has overseen several studio updates and upgrades.

She has built her own studio at home where she prefers to play “real” records.

Outside the radio she enjoys playing records, keyboards and bass guitar and has become a qualified train driver and signal operator on a heritage railway line. You can listen to her Ladies Night Show Sundays 8-10pm here on Starhits Radio.

I come from a family background of entertainment so I guess it would only be natural for me to follow in its path . I started djing back in the day when it took you as long to unload , set up , and prepare, and then do it all in reverse as it did to do the gig sometimes . Nowadays doing a similar thing but from more comfortable surroundings is much more appealing. The show in its current format started life on a fm station , but then covid came along as did the idea of syndication . Its a very light hearted show which varies in style from week to week but always try to keep a happy upbeat feel going . There are lots of different features on the show and we love it when listeners get in touch and become part of the night you can listen to my show The Saturday Music Mix here on Starhits Radio Saturday 8-10pm
